About me

When life is painful and seems bewildering, therapy can provide a safe space for self-understanding and healing. If you are struggling with relationships, stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, illness or any issue getting in the way of you experiencing a fulfilling and enjoyable life, we can work together to find a creative way forward.

I work in a person-centred way, with respect, empathy and a non-judgemental attitude, working with your concerns at your pace.

My approach is integrative, which means I can offer different models of working to suit your situation.

I work online via video sessions, and I can also offer Ecotherapy, holding sessions outdoors in our beautiful local environment in North Wales, sitting in a safe, quiet space or walking and talking as you prefer.

I also have special interests in working with the natural environment, therapeutic writing and story work, image and dream work, and can offer these creative ways of working if you wish.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor, trained in Humanistic Integrative therapies, and I am registered with the professional body The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

I have 18 years of experience as a therapist, working with young people, adults and families in an NHS setting, and also for the last five years with University students.

I work in a person-centred way, with respect, empathy and a non-judgemental attitude, working with your concerns at your pace.

I am trained in compassion-focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Therapy, solution-focused brief Therapy, Outdoor Therapy and Narrative Therapy amongst other models.

I am very experienced in working with children, young people and families, and can work with young people aged 14 and over, as well as parents, carers and family members who may have concerns about children and family relationships. I am also experienced in working with neuro-divergent clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
