About me

My name is Ben Weiner. I am a BACP registered therapist in London.

I work to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. My goal is to help you uncover your strengths, heal from past wounds, and build fulfilling relationships.

Therapy is a deeply personal journey, and I approach each client with empathy, respect, and a commitment to understanding your unique sense of self.

I believe that healing happens in the context of a trusting, collaborative relationship.

Whether you’re seeking support for depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, or simply want to better understand yourself, I’m here to help you become your own guide.

I draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques to create a therapy that best meets your needs.

Together, we will explore not only your current situation but also how your past experiences and inner world shape your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and relationships.

My work is rooted in an approach that addresses the emotional, cognitive, and bodily aspects of your experience.

I’m here to support you in navigating life’s complexities, helping you to connect to yourself and others in a meaningful way.

Training, qualifications & experience

With hundreds of hours of experience both in-person and online, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my therapeutic practice.

I've worked in both private practice and with a charity focused on supporting families affected by domestic and child abuse, which has deeply influenced my approach. I aim to meet you where you are and collaborate with you to discover what will best support your growth. I don't come with preconceived ideas about what therapy should look like for you — together, we will explore what feels right.

As an integrative relational therapist, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to your unique needs. I believe therapy should honour every part of who you are — the practical and rational, the creative and artistic, the intellectual and emotional, as well as the physical and spiritual.

All aspects of yourself are welcome in therapy, and I believe the most profound benefits come from exploring the parts of yourself that are more difficult to express in everyday life.

As a relational therapist, I focus on how your past and present experiences influence the way you relate to others and to the world around you. This approach helps uncover the underlying dynamics that drive and hinder you, providing insight into the forces shaping your life.

Training & Qualifications

I trained for five years at two respected UK institutions, starting with a foundation course at the Society of Analytical Psychology (Jungian), followed by further studies at the Minster Centre, one of Europe’s leading centres for Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling.

I hold a Diploma in Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), ensuring I adhere to the highest ethical standards in my practice.

Beyond my core training, I have continued my professional development in areas such as family dynamics, race and racism, gender and sexuality, child sexual abuse, complex clinical issues, the role of medication in therapy, bereavement, eco-anxiety, and time-limited therapy.

In addition to my therapeutic work, I have decades of experience in the corporate world, giving me valuable insight into the challenges faced by clients balancing work and personal life. I have also worked as a writer and filmmaker, using these creative skills to explore the imaginative aspects of your inner experience.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

If you’ve never had therapy before, it’s completely normal to feel a little unsure.

The first session is an opportunity for us to see if we’re a good fit for each other. I will ask you what brings you to therapy, and together we’ll explore what’s led you to seek support.

I’ll also take the time to explain how I work, and we’ll discuss your goals for therapy. If you decide to continue, I will provide a contract outlining the basics of how we’ll work together.

The therapy I offer is most effective as a weekly, open-ended arrangement, but if you prefer a more time-limited approach, we can certainly discuss that option.

People who come to my practice often find that I offer the compassion and support needed to meet them exactly where they are.

Have a look at my website or get in touch with me to find out some more.
