About me

Life can sometimes leave us feeling a bit lost, stuck, or unsure of ourselves — and therapy can offer a space to begin finding your way again. I’m here to listen and support you as you make sense of what’s going on, in a way that feels thoughtful, compassionate, and at your pace.

While I’m based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, I also work online with clients across the wider UK and beyond.

I work with adults (18+) in a kind and relational way, offering a space where you can talk freely, feel heard, and begin to explore what you need. You might be struggling with self-esteem, identity, relationships, or just feeling disconnected from yourself — or you might not have the words for what you’re feeling, just a sense that something in your life isn’t quite sitting right. Whatever brings you, we can explore it together with care and curiosity.

My approach to therapy is relational and integrative. That means I pay close attention to the therapeutic relationship and how it can support healing and growth. I aim to offer a relationship that is attuned, respectful and responsive — where you can begin to feel safe enough to explore what matters most to you. I draw on a range of psychological theories and perspectives, but always in service of the relationship and your unique needs.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you're unsure of what to expect. Our first session is a gentle starting point — a chance for us to meet, talk about what’s brought you here, and see whether working together feels like the right fit. I’ll also send you some pre-therapy information in advance, so you have a clear sense of how I work and what to expect. There’s no pressure to continue beyond that session if it doesn’t feel right for you. And if I believe a different kind of support may be more appropriate, I’ll be open about that and help you think through your next steps.

If you’re curious about whether therapy with me might be right for you, please feel free to get in touch — I’d be glad to hear from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy, having trained at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. I began seeing clients in 2018 and qualified in 2020. In 2022, I gained Accredited status with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Before training as a therapist, I worked in various mental health-focused roles from 2008 — experience that gave me a deep understanding of the many ways emotional distress can show up in people’s lives, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and low self-worth. These earlier roles helped shape my commitment to offering therapy that is both compassionate and grounded.

I now work in private practice with adults (18+) and offer both online therapy and in-person sessions from my comfortable home office near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. I have experience supporting clients through a wide range of issues, including relationship difficulties, grief, self-esteem challenges, identity concerns, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions.

I also have experience supporting neurodivergent clients — including those who are autistic or have ADHD — and I aim to offer a space that respects and affirms different ways of thinking, feeling, and relating. I understand that for many, especially those diagnosed later in life, therapy can be a place to begin making sense of longstanding feelings of difference, masking, or burnout. I work gently and collaboratively to support this process.

I welcome and value working with people from LGBTQ+ and GSRD communities, and strive to offer an inclusive, affirming space for exploration. This may include support around coming out, navigating shame, understanding your sense of identity, or processing the impact of non-affirming environments. I'm mindful of how relational wounds and questions of belonging can show up in therapy, and I aim to meet these with care, curiosity, and respect.

As part of my ongoing commitment to ethical and effective practice, I engage in regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development — helping me stay attuned and responsive to the clients I work with.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
