About me
About me
I am an experienced Psychotherapist and therapeutic counsellor with over 30 years working experience as a clinician. I specialise in long term psychotherapy and am also available for short-term of 8 to 12 sessions and then review for longer term. Individual and couple work.
Having lived and enjoyed the rich experiences of both the East and West and having studied psychotherapy, I can greatly appreciate different cultures and family roots and the issues that can arise. I have worked in the care of people throughout my careers in counselling, psychotherapy and nursing, I value the uniqueness of the individual and their concerns. I can work with clients who are experiencing the effects of illness and safely explore containment and management.
My approach
My approach is caring, sensitive yet incisive, always holding the well-being and safety of the individual foremost.
I use my time with an individual to evaluate their needs, hear their issues and support their anxieties. My aim is always to give the individual a safe space in which to explore their issues and face their difficulties.
I am sensitive to the links between physical and psychological health and how they relate to each other.
Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy and therapeutic counselling (my original training) focuses on the potential of the individual as well as the past and present, helping to realise their true worth.
Psychosynthesis offers an approach to see the person as a whole with choices and not just someone with presenting diagnosis and symptoms.
When am I available?
I offer daytime and evening sessions. Weekend sessions can be negotiated.
Where am I available?
Currently I practice at London SW4 and SW16.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at the Institute of Psychosynthesis and qualified as a Psychosynthesis Counsellor and Psychotherapist.
I had additional qualifications as a registered nurse (SRN, RMN) - retired now. I have an extensive working experience and knowledge of over 30 years in psychological processes, health care and well-being. I offer an integrative approach using my skills drawn from psychosynthesis modality, behavioural tools, psychodynamic and interpersonal models.
I am registered and accredited with UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy).
I am a member of APP (Association of Psychospiritual Psychotherapists)

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
