MBACP Psychotherapeutic Integrative Counsellor

About me

I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor and I offer a warm, confidential space where you can feel heard, supported, and safe to explore whatever’s on your mind. I know it’s not always easy to seek support – my intention is to welcome you with sensitivity and understanding.

People come to counselling for many reasons – to process painful experiences, manage anxiety, depression or grief, to navigate relationship struggles, or simply to reconnect with themselves.

At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens through human connection. Together, we can make sense of things and begin to move forward. Our sessions are focused on you, with the hope of building a trusting relationship where you feel comfortable speaking freely.

I’m based near Worthing, West Sussex, and offer both in-person and online therapy to clients across the UK. I work with people 18+ from all walks of life, including those who identify as LGBTQ+, and I’m committed to creating an inclusive environment that is respectful and welcoming to everyone.

In our initial session, I gently explore what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. This is a safe space for you to share what feels most important and an opportunity to see if working together feels supportive and right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

My therapeutic practice is underpinned by a Person-Centred/Humanistic approach, which forms the foundation of my work with clients. However, I also draw upon the insights of Transactional Analysis and Attachment Theory to deepen my understanding and inform the therapeutic direction. For instance, if a client is experiencing persistent difficulties in establishing close, loving relationships, we may explore the roots of this relational pattern. Through the lens of Attachment Theory, we might examine early caregiving experiences and the internal working models formed in those first significant relationships. This integrative perspective allows me to make sense of your relational challenges while holding you - and your subjective experience at the heart of the process.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Please note - I work from two premises. The Littlehampton room has disability access for wheelchair users. My Worthing office is not suitable for wheelchair users.
