About me

Hi, I'm Anna, and I am a registered art psychotherapist based in Liverpool. If you are looking for a safe and supportive space to explore emotions and experiences in a creatively empowering way, my approach allows sessions to be tailored to support your individual needs, ensuring that your goals are considered ongoingly. Whether it be a long-term space to explore and process deep issues such as trauma, or somewhere to look at day to day challenges on a shorter-term basis, my trauma-informed and client-led approach will support you to reach your goals.

I offer an entirely bespoke, trauma-informed, and client-focussed approach, tailoring support to clients' individual needs. I work in an integrative way drawing upon different techniques and approaches, such as movement, play, exposure therapy, CBT, and mindfulness where appropriate. Sessions provide an empowering, inclusive and non-judgemental space for safe expression.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have had opportunities to work with a wide variety of client groups including end-of-life hospice patients and their families, members of the LGBTQ+ community, survivors of domestic abuse, and people living with physical health conditions.

Most recently I have been working as a Team Lead at the Young Persons Advisory Service (YPAS) in Liverpool, where I supervised a small team of therapists as well as managing my own complex case load of young people aged 5-25. This role provided opportunities to support complex families, looked after children (LAC), children with diagnoses such as autism and ADHD, or those under social care. Common themes included childhood trauma, family separation, behaviour, domestic abuse, and school-avoidance.

Having gained invaluable experience at YPAS I am now delivering private art therapy sessions for adults, children, and young people both in-person and online, under my company name: Creative Clarity Therapy. From time to time I offer therapeutic art groups based on particular themes such as bereavement, managing physical pain, or for new mothers. I am also a practicing artists, and share and sell my artwork at markets and online.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

I am able to adapt sessions to ensure that they are accessible and inclusive for people with learning disabilities, health issues, severe anxiety, sensory sensitivities, or neurodivergence.
