About me
There are often times in our lives where we may feel lost and overwhelmed. In these times, we can feel isolated, anxious and depressed, struggling to see how we can change the way we feel. Hello, I'm Anna, a psychodynamic counsellor. I provide a safe, heart-led therapeutic environment. Together, we can explore your situation, empowering you to see your life with a new perspective. I also have 15 years experience as a physical therapist. Through sensitive attention to all aspects of your being, I hope to empower you to change, feeling lighter and freer.
I have a heart-led, sensitive approach, working alongside you at your own pace, paying attention to all aspects of your being. I listen deeply to your life stories and experiences to enable you to break free from restricting patterns of behaviour that you feel no longer serve you.
Psychodynamic counselling is a talking therapy that helps people understand how their unconscious thoughts and past experience shape their current feelings and behaviour. I bring with me, and into your sessions, a deep understanding of the mind, body, emotional and spirit connections.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I work from my lovely garden room in Stotfold. I offer 1 hr weekly sessions for £50 per session. In the first few sessions, I take the time to explain my approach, and you are able to bring any questions or concerns about counselling, so you can see if I feel like the right fit for you. These first sessions are an opportunity for you to express your feelings and for us to understand your situation so that we can create a strong foundation for your future sessions.
It is important to me that you feel comfortable and safe and that you feel able to trust me and the space I provide. I am a client-led therapist, working to ensure that you feel heard and empowered in your counselling sessions.
