About me

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, a UKCP Accredited Existential Psychotherapist and an EMDR therapist. My work combines the depth of existential psychotherapy with evidence-based psychological approaches, always adapting therapy to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit a particular model.

For me, therapy starts with one person meeting another. Before any techniques, theories, or interventions, there is a relationship. I believe that when we feel genuinely seen, understood and accepted - without judgement or the need to pretend - something important begins to shift. My role is not to tell you who you are or how you should live your life, but to create a space where we can become curious about your experiences, understand what has shaped you, and discover, together, new ways of moving forward that feel authentic to you.

Alongside supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, neurodiversity and major life transitions, I have a particular interest in working with people living with life-limiting or terminal illnesses, those facing palliative or end-of-life care, anticipatory grief, bereavement, including bereavement following suicide, and the profound impact of witnessing the death of a loved one. My doctoral research explored the lived experience of witnessing the death of someone close, and this continues to inform both my clinical work and teaching.

Clients often tell me they value the warmth, calm, and compassion I bring to our work together. I aim to offer a space where difficult experiences can be explored safely, where painful emotions can be understood rather than avoided, and where therapy is not only about reducing distress but also about deepening self-understanding, reconnecting with your own strengths and values, and finding a way of living that feels more meaningful and authentic.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, a UKCP Accredited Existential Psychotherapist, a BACP Registered Psychotherapist and a trained EMDR therapist. I hold a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, a Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Science, and an Executive MBA.

My therapeutic training allows me to draw on both relational, existential psychotherapy and evidence-based psychological approaches. I use EMDR to support people who have experienced trauma, distressing life events, painful memories, and experiences that continue to feel emotionally or physically present. EMDR is always used thoughtfully and at a pace that feels safe for the individual.

I have worked across NHS, charitable and private settings, supporting adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity, relationship difficulties, health-related concerns and major life transitions. Alongside my private practice, I teach psychotherapy and contribute to the training and supervision of future therapists.

I have particular experience in working with people living with life-limiting or terminal illness, those facing palliative or end-of-life care, and people affected by anticipatory grief and bereavement. This includes supporting those bereaved by suicide and people who have witnessed the death of someone close. My doctoral research explored the lived experience of witnessing the death of a loved one and continues to inform my clinical work, teaching, and understanding of trauma, loss, and bereavement.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

UK Council for Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

In addition to my general psychotherapy practice, I have particular experience supporting people affected by trauma, bereavement, serious and life-limiting illness, palliative and end-of-life care, suicide bereavement, and the psychological impact of witnessing the death of someone close.

I also work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, neurodiversity (including ADHD), health-related concerns, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, fertility issues, burnout, major life transitions, and existential questions relating to identity, meaning and purpose.

Alongside individual psychotherapy, I offer EMDR where appropriate and have a particular interest in supporting psychotherapy and counselling trainees throughout their professional development.

Further information

What continues to inspire me, even after many years of practice, is a genuine curiosity about people and the many different ways we make sense of our lives. I don’t believe therapy is about having all the answers. Rather, it is a space where we can slow down together, become curious about your experiences, and explore what it means to be you.

Whether you are facing a specific difficulty or simply have a sense that something in your life no longer feels quite right, therapy offers an opportunity to understand yourself more deeply. My hope is that our work together helps you discover not only new perspectives but also a greater sense of freedom, authenticity, and connection with yourself and others.

I offer psychotherapy in both English and Polish and welcome clients from a wide range of cultural and professional backgrounds.
