About me

I have experience helping those with a wide range of issues in a safe therapeutic space, allowing you to explore your inner strengths and resources, building on these to improve your well-being and self-growth.

Having received counselling myself, I know that going into counselling can take courage, so I will try my best to put you at ease and assist you through the process. Whether you choose to meet me online, in my garden room or outside in nature, you will have a confidential space to talk about concerns and problems.

I offer integrative therapy, which combines person-centred, cognitive and psychodynamic approaches. Our sessions are uniquely tailored to you by looking at the present, which can lead to looking at your history and linking it to current concerns and making plans for your future.

I provide a nurturing space to speak openly, navigate challenges and reconnect with your true self.  In our work together, I help you find inner harmony, healthy relationships and greater meaning in life.

I offer 1-1 therapeutic sessions in a space and at a pace that is comfortable for you; choose from sitting in a relaxing private garden room, remotely via video or walking outside and connecting with nature.

Garden Room

I offer counselling from my home in Tunbridge Wells, which is 15-minute walk from the town centre and train station and very close to most of the secondary schools in the area. My therapy space is in a private room at the bottom of my garden, surrounded by trees and the sound of birds.

Online Counselling

I also offer sessions online via video conferencing for those who are unable or prefer not to travel and meet me in person.  Requirements for this type of therapy are reliable access to the internet and access to a quiet private space where you feel comfortable talking. This may suit you if you have a busy schedule, cutting out travelling to and from therapy or if you are not located in an area near me. If the technology isn’t familiar to you, I can help you with the setup, and will also offer guidance on how to get the best from online therapy. I do not offer phone counselling, as I feel being able to see one another’s faces is an important aspect of effective therapeutic communication.

Out in nature

For those interested in combining nature with counselling, I offer walk and talk therapy in a private park or a wooded area, both within 5 minutes’ walk from my home.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

My first session

Choosing a counsellor can be daunting and it is important that you feel comfortable with who you choose to work with. That’s why I offer a FREE 15-minute introductory session.

This is an opportunity for you to share what you are hoping to get from your counselling experience and for me to answer any questions you might have. You can then decide if you would like to start your well-being journey with me.

If we then agree to work with each other, we will meet weekly on the same day and time in a way that suits you; in my garden room, out in nature or online.

To arrange a free session, please contact me by email.

All sessions are confidential, and information will not be disclosed to a third party unless I feel your safety or those around you is at risk. I will always consult with you first should this be the case.
