About me

Hi, my name is Amanda Woodhouse. I am a professional, qualified counsellor with a BA (honours) Degree in Counselling Studies, Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & I have attended various other training days over the last several years.

As a professional counsellor, I am a registered member of The British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP), which means I work to their ethical framework. I have a wide range of experience working with Mental Health & Emotional Issues, for example, anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement & loss & many, many more with people aged 16 years & onwards.

My counselling experience includes counselling for the NHS & an organisation in Grimsby providing Health & Social Care to the community & since 2015 I have counselled students aged 16 years & upwards at a local College & University as well as counselling privately, which I find tremendously rewarding. I feel honoured & privileged when client’s tell me their worries & concerns, trusting me to work with them on finding a solution for their problems.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I work non-judgementally & empathically, enabling my clients to talk freely & confidentially about any issues or concerns they are having, no matter how big or small. I listen & accept my clients for who they are which often helps them to accept themselves and embark on a journey of self-exploration. However, as all clients are different, I also integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness into my practice to suit my client’s individual needs.

If you would like an appointment, or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
