About me

Sometimes our stories are so complex that it feels difficult to find a space safe enough to share the vulnerable, challenging or hidden parts of our lives and challenging to find a non-judgemental listener. As a psychotherapist, it is a privilege to walk alongside clients who are hoping for change in their lives and relationships. I am a trauma-informed systemic psychotherapist with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and therefore understand the dynamics of marital, parental and family relationships. I work collaboratively with clients to understand their inner strengths and resources but, as in any story, I believe that our people, culture and context shape us and are integral to understanding who each of us have become and informs the path to health and wholeness individually, as a couple or family. Please feel free to reach out.

Important to note: I am now available in the city centre of York for couples and individual sessions, please see my website for details..

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have years of experience working with individuals and couples who are in crisis and have worked with many neurodiverse clients. I have training in Emotion-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method (Level 1&2), Neufeld Institute (Making Sense of Children) and Neuroscience and the Satir Model in the sand tray.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
