About me
I believe in the power of therapy to enhance life on many levels – emotionally, intellectually, practically and spiritually. I’m an experienced integrative psychotherapist and counsellor who works by tailoring therapy to the needs of the individual, in order to achieve the best possible outcome.
I have over fifteen years experience in short, medium and long term therapy and have worked with a wide range of presenting issues, including: depression, anxiety, work stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma, sexual and physical abuse, anger management, infertility, insomnia, bipolar disorder, bereavement and loss. I have a special interest in working with people from different cultures.
I have worked successfully with people who have no clear presenting problem, but who wish to feel better about themselves, their relationships, and their lives in general.
I also offer clinical supervision and training therapy.
I offer a warm, positive and creative therapeutic environment in which people are able achieve their goals.
Training, qualifications & experience
MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy (distinction), Northern Guild for Psychotherapy
Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (distinction), Northern Guild for Psychotherapy
Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (distinction), University of Wales
I also have a BA (Hons) and an MA (Hons) from Magdalen College, Oxford, in Classics and Modern Languages.
I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and counsellor. I engage in ongoing professional development.
I have over fifteen years experience working in the NHS and in private practice. I work at a small, friendly group practice in Gosforth.
I hold an enhanced and up-to-date DBS (formerly CRB) check.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
