About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist with many years of experience helping people with their mental health. I provide only the best, evidence-based therapies that teach individuals and couples how to take care of their mental health and relationships for themselves, for life. I run a private practice in Eastbourne, where I provide psychological assessments and therapy, as well as training and supervision for other health professionals. I also teach and develop courses for future psychologists at Canterbury Christchurch University, focusing on how to use therapy to treat distress associated with long-term health issues.
I have advanced training in several therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotion Focused Therapy. These therapies have the strongest evidence for being effective over the short term across a range of difficulties. My career includes working in the NHS, where I developed and led psychology services for people with heart conditions, diabetes, neurological disorders, and workplace-related stress.
In addition to my clinical work, I teach at several universities and have been involved in national programs to improve psychological services. I am passionate about advancing mental health care through teaching, practice, and service development.
