About me

Hello, my name is Afrodite. A warm welcome to my page.

I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor (BA Hons), a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), and a certified EFT Practitioner offering Emotional Freedom Techniques alongside my integrative approach.

My practice, SunFilled Pathways Counselling Service, was recently recognised by Prestige Awards as Integrative Counselling Service of the Year in London and the South East.

Life can feel incredibly challenging at times, leaving us overwhelmed, isolated, stuck or unsure of where to turn. If you are feeling lost, I offer a supportive space to help you reconnect with yourself.

You don't have to hold everything alone.

Where I work

I run SunFilled Pathways Counselling Service in Havant - a private practice rooted in authenticity and a commitment to emotional depth and empowerment.

Alongside my private practice, I contribute to a Portsmouth charity and an organisation in Fareham, offering support to individuals finding their way through healing, reflection and personal growth.

How I work

My therapeutic approach grounded in humanistic values, drawing on theories such as CBT, brief therapy (solution and compassion focused), existential exploration and creative practice.

I support clients through a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief and bereavement, relational and identity-based challenges. My counselling practice is compassionate and deeply respectful, where your experiences are met with sensitivity, openness and care.

Our sessions may travel across time, through past, present and future, uncovering how life’s chapters shaped the way you feel, think and relate today.

Whether we connect through conversation or creative tools like emotion cards, we will move at your pace, in ways that feel safe and meaningful for you.

This is your space to be seen, heard and gently understood.

Practical information

I offer in-person, online or phone sessions to individuals age 18 and over. Each session is 50 minutes in length.

There is no fixed limit to how many sessions we can have together, your journey will unfold at a pace that feels right for you. I typically see clients once a week, and we will regularly review our progress to ensure your therapeutic needs continue to be met with care and intention.

I have had the privilege of supporting clients through a variety of charitable organisations, including a bereavement charity and two others where I worked with individuals navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. These roles deepened my understanding of diverse client needs and helped shape the inclusive, empathetic approach I bring to my practice today.

Alongside my counselling journey, I have supported individuals through a range of roles, including as a group support worker with Solent Mind, where I facilitated mental health-focused peer spaces, and as an academic support worker within a college setting, where I helped students navigate emotional and educational challenges.

My experience extends to court-based settings, where I worked as a support worker for Witness Services, offering emotional and practical guidance to individuals navigating the legal process.

During my dissertation, I explored multigenerational relationships between first- and second-generation migrants, with a particular focus on cultural identity. This work reflected and deepened my longstanding passion for cultures, traditions and the ways they shape our sense of belonging across generations - and continues to inform my counselling practice with cultural sensitivity and relational depth.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
