About me
Hello, I'm an accredited CBT therapist. I enjoy the cognitive side of therapy which is to explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and the connections between them. I've worked a lot with depression, negative thinking, different types of anxiety and trauma. We have the option of going as deep as you like into the psychology of a problem or we can keep it light and look at changes in lifestyle and behaviour. CBT is about experimenting with new thoughts and behaviours in order to change how we feel. However we can also work through past experiences and difficult emotions. I am a compassionate person with an open mind.
CBT offers many different activities that we can do together to explore and challenge certain ways of thinking. A key process is to question and find out just how accurate or helpful certain thoughts and beliefs are. I have a background in philosophy and psychology which helps me guide these conversations.
In CBT the process is about helping you become your own therapist and learning the techniques and ideas that help us take control of our mind and life. But also it can be about learning to open up and develop our ability to talk about certain things.
Feel free to contact me with any questions. I'm a private and confidential person however i am also very chatty and friendly so don't hesitate or feel worried about contacting me.
