About me

Sometimes it can feel hard to make sense of where we are — especially when something inside us knows: this isn’t quite it. Therapy offers a space to slow down, listen inwardly, and begin to meet yourself in a new way.

I’m Adam, an integrative psychotherapist. I specialise in the threads that run through a lifetime — our relationships, identities, and the deeper stories that shape how we move through the world. Some people come with a clear issue; others arrive with a tangle of questions, a stuckness, or a quiet sense of longing for something more. Wherever you’re starting from, we’ll begin there.

My approach is grounded in the belief that change happens in relationship. We develop in connection with others — and it’s often in safe, attuned relationship that healing happens too. I work relationally, developmentally, and integratively, drawing on a range of theories including relational psychodynamic work, body-based and trauma-aware approaches, interpersonal neurobiology, and existential ideas.

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. What matters is what works for you. Together, we’ll explore what’s happening in your life, what’s been hard to carry, and what possibilities might begin to open up.

You can find out more about my practice at the link to my website — but more important than theory or titles is whether something in this description feels like it might be a good fit. If it does, I’d be glad to hear from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI), earning an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling and an MSc in Relational Developmental Integrative Psychotherapy.

I’ve worked in private practice, the NHS, charities, not-for-profit organisations and an EAP company — supporting adults from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

I gained my MSc in May 2025 and have over five years’ counselling experience. I’m committed to ongoing professional and personal development, regularly updating my knowledge, deepening my practice, and engaging in supervision and reflective learning.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
