About me

I am experienced psychotherapist who can create a safe and non-judgemental space to enable you to explore different aspects of your life – nothing is ever trivial. We can work together to understand how your internal mindset, your thoughts and emotions, dictates your current reality – your behaviours and actions.

I adopt a somewhat informal approach to sessions – chit chat is welcomed, anything that makes you feel at ease. I know that sitting across from a stranger, whether in-person or online, can be intense and overwhelming! Especially when that person is asking you questions, that perhaps, you haven’t even asked yourself. Therefore, it is important to me that you are comfortable and relaxed and feel able to engage in the session.

My therapy approach is more concerned on accommodating your needs and tailoring my approach to suit what’s best for you. I will ask questions, challenge current thinking and present alternatives while ultimately allowing you to lead your own journey of self-discovery, explore your feelings and find your own insights

I know this will take time and it requires that we work together to build trust and a relationship that is safe-enough for you to explore your thoughts and emotions.

Unlike AI, I may not agree with you on everything, but as a human, I will smile, laugh and joke with you. I will champion and encourage you, but will also challenge. I will support your perceptions while introduce new perspectives.

Together, in our space – we will aim to figure it all out

If the above sounds of interest, or you are at least curious, feel free to reach out to me for a chat – lets figure out what works and take it from there!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.
