About me
Welcome to Brighter Futures Personal Growth.
Are you experiencing anxiety or depression, or feeling sad, confused, stuck or overwhelmed? Perhaps you are trying to keep going after some kind of trauma, and struggling to recover. Or maybe you are going through a painful breakup.
Or are you are worried about your child or teen, and feel they need some help with an issue in their life?
Hello, I'm Frances - an award-winning therapist who sees adults and children from all over Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire and beyond, and also offers online sessions for adult clients elsewhere in the UK and overseas.
I have been working as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist for almost 30 years - both in the NHS and private practice - and as an Executive Coach for over 12 years.
The majority of my adult clients are women and include senior executives, business owners, senior health professionals and high profile individuals in the public eye, seeking absolute discretion (entertainers, sportspeople, politicians and media personalities). I also see the spouses/partners of such individuals.
My clients are commonly battling anxiety or depression, low self-esteem or confidence, or are experiencing relationship problems (often a separation or divorce), family issues or bereavement.
I also specialise in working with children and young people from the age of 5-18 who are struggling with any issue that is causing them to feel stressed, unhappy or anxious. I offer animal-assisted therapy to my younger clients with the help of my black labrador, Bertha, who is Pets as Therapy (PAT) registered.
The way that I work is rather different from other therapists in that I don't offer single sessions or work with my clients on an ad-hoc basis. What I have found in my 30+ years of practice is that commitment and regular, consistent appointments are the key to lasting results. So I work with my clients for a minimum of 3 months, and also offer 6 month and 12 month programmes.
I offer a highly specialist approach to my work with clients, seamlessly integrating key elements of both therapy and coaching into my unique personal growth programmes. Often people are confused about whether to seek the support of a counsellor or a coach when they are struggling with a challenging situation; with me you get the best of both worlds! So no matter what issues may come up during my work with clients, I can tailor my support to provide exactly what each individual client needs.
Finally, I’m quite expensive compared to many other therapists. I charge a substantial fee for my bespoke programmes based on the value of the unique premium service I offer, and the results my clients achieve.
To find out more about the different ways you can work with me, and my approach to supporting my clients, do have a look at my website. If you would like to have a free 30 minute introductory call with me to chat about your situation (or your child's) I'd love to hear from you. You can book a call by clicking the box at the bottom of any page on my website.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
