About me

I have over 30 years experience counselling adults & children, working with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, panic attacks, social anxiety, bereavement, all relationship issues, recovery from trauma, fertility, pregnancy and menopausal issues, and living with and beyond cancer or serious illness.

I am currently working in person in a beautiful scenic conservatory, and outdoors/online or telephone.

At times in life it can help to talk confidentially to a complete outsider who will listen attentively to your point of view.  I offer understanding and acceptance, helping you to develop insight and feel more at ease within yourself.

Weekly 50 minute sessions are tailored to your individual needs and can be either short or long term depending on the nature of your concerns.
Shorter term work (6-12 weeks) is solution focused, looking at ways to make things better.  Longer term work is more effective where problems have been present a long time and are deep seated, and can help you achieve a more sustained improvement in the quality of your life.   In the counselling relationship we may look back to your past, but only in order to improve your present and future.

Walk and talk counselling.
My consulting room is in a quiet beautiful rural area overlooking the estuary and South Wales  yet close to drive from most Bristol areas ( Sandy Lane, Lower Failand BS83SR, approximately 15 minutes drive from Bristol centre, south Bristol or 5 min from M5 exit 19 Easton in Gordano).
This area is perfect for walk and talk therapy.  It is surrounded by walks on paths, in fields, and woods and is very private, peaceful and rejuvenating.

Sessions outdoors can be 50 minutes or 75 minutes

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
