About me

As an experienced and registered Humanistic Counsellor and NLP practitioner, my role is on recognising an individual's uniqueness and personal strength.  I believe that everybody has within them the ability to find their own sense of wellbeing and inner peace through awareness, acknowledgement and authenticity. However, life sometimes confronts us with obstacles of all kinds and in all ways making it not always easy to feel hope or positivity, or to have a direction of any kind. Therefore, my commitment to you is to offer a supportive, professional and confidential therapeutic space, where emotions, thoughts and feelings can be explored together and at a pace which you, the client, feels safe enough to work through to encourage understanding, change and ultimately, wholeness within yourself.

I am a registered member of BACP, fully insured, CRB checked and have ongoing clinical supervision and regularly attend courses to enhance my professional skills practice.

I am also an experienced addictions counsellor trained by the Sussex Alcohol & Substance Use Services (SASS).

I offer both individual and couples counselling.  I also offer online counselling either by Zoom or Skype. Long or short term therapy is available, depending on the individual needs and requirements of the client.  Weekday and evening appointments are Monday to Friday up to 60 minutes duration.

My counselling room is situated in Tollerton, near York, with free parking and is easily accessible by bus routes.

Please feel free to call me on 07759844306 to arrange an appointment or simply to find out more information without any obligation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
