Psychotherapy can help if you are dealing with unexpected responses to life's dilemmas, feeling sad or grieving loss, or just less able to cope with the stresses and strains of life.
Perhaps you are just struggling to create balance and set boundaries as you negotiate the demands of friends, family, work and relationships. This is where therapy could help.
I offer confidential non-judgemental Psychotherapy (also called counselling)
Or you might need shorter term solution focused work using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy CAT and Mindfulness.
Lastly where indicated Trauma Focused Therapy might be useful.
We might use some assessment sheets to work out what you need if in doubt and see if short term or longer term work would be useful.
My style is warm and easy going, and we can explore current issues or past history as directed by you, to help contextualise how you are feeling now.
Depending which style of working we choose, will be using creative tools to understand, process and reframe experience. Sessions are tailored to suit you, the individual, and your therapy is confidential and non discriminatory.
As an accredited member of the BACP, I follow their ethical code of practice.
Psychotherapy can often be combined with other tools such as mindfulness and healing meditations.
Psychotherapy is indicated for help with deep seated issues or for extended self development and exploration in order to internalise work and build greater resource's after prolonged periods of negative experience.
CBT is indicated for focused and goal orientated solutions to specific issues such as anxiety. This involves looking at internalised core beliefs and negative thoughts that affect your present experience. These tools can be useful when working with issues such as depression, anxiety or phobias, whilst learning to create balance in life, with a better awareness of how the mind and body systems interact and affect mood.
Trauma Focused Therapy might be indicated for those who have experienced or vicariously experienced life threatening events including; sexual abuse, domestic violence, hospitalisations, accidents, racial abuse, hate crimes, conflict, interpersonal violence, as well as prolonged childhood adverse experience or abuse. Including any events which cause symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress.
All these methods offer ways of achieving better understanding of oneself for improved emotional balance plus learning mastery over the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system to reduce heightened feelings, deadened feelings or anxiety.
Sessions will be tailored to suit you the individual, and we can combine methods.
I offer in person sessions in N7 as well as online or phone psychotherapy sessions.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
