About me

Welcome, I am a professional Counsellor/Psychotherapist offering a friendly, confidential, non-judgemental, safe-space to those wishing to explore and understand their life difficulties. I have 16 years experience working in the field which include: relationship issues, anxiety, abuse, low self esteem/self confidence, bereavement, depression, addiction, truama, sexuality, anger, illness and disability to name but a few. I work among peaceful surroundings using a face to face approach where no topic is considered unworthy or too small.

In addition, I've worked as Primary Tutor to university students on a BA (Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy degree programme and curently provide Consultancy/Supervisory support for other professional Counsellors/Psychotherapists.

Unfortunately we can all experience times in our lives where the strength of our emotions seem to overwhelm us - anger, sadness, confusion, desperation, helplessness and despair can ultimately lead to feelings of not coping. Counselling/Psychotherapy is a really useful way to help us make sense of these emotions alongside the root to their presence, thus bringing us fresh understanding and peace.

I do appreciate how daunting it can be to search for a Counsellor/Psychotherapist who feels right for you and this simply reflects your need to feel comfortable with your choice. You may find it helpful to arrange an initial session with your chosen therapist where the time can be used to sensitively look at the things that are troubling you. This also provides you with a 'feel for the process' before deciding to embark on further sessions. This is common practice in the world of Counselling/Psychotherapy and can feel very useful.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any queries regarding my qualifications, experience, or practice.

Should you wish to make an appointment please use the contact details provided (Please note the landline does NOT receive texts) - if I'm unavailable when you call, please feel free to leave a message containing your name and contact number (as clearly as possible) and I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
Many thanks for your interest and I look forward to speaking with you soon...

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
