Welcome, I am a professional Counsellor/Psychotherapist offering a friendly, confidential, non-judgemental, safe-space to those wishing to explore and understand their life difficulties. I'm experienced in working with a wide range of topics including: relationship issues, anxiety, abuse, low self esteem/self confidence, bereavement, depression, addiction, truama, sexuality, anger, illness or disability. I work among peaceful surroundings using a face to face approach where no topic is considered unworthy or too small. In addition I've lectured university students on a BA (Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy degree programme and provide Supervisory support for other professional Counsellors/Psychotherapists.
We all experience times in our lives where the strength of our emotions seems to overwhelm us. Feelings such as: fear, anger, sadness, confusion, desperation, helplessness or despair can ultimately lead us to feeling distressed. Counselling/Psychotherapy can be a really useful way of helping us make sense of these emotions and the root to their presence, thus bringing fresh insights and understanding that help us to move on with our lives in a way, and at a pace, that feels right for us.
As an experienced therapist of 15yrs, I can fully appreciate how daunting it is to search for a Counsellor/Psychotherapist who feels right for you. This is not at all unusual and reflects a need for you to feel comfortable with your choice. You may find it helpful to arrange an initial session with your chosen Counsellor/Psychotherapist - this time can be used to sensitively look at the things that are troubling you, whilst also providing you with a 'feel for the process' before deciding to embark on further sessions. This initial session is common practice in the world of Counselling/Psychotherapy and is considered very useful for both clients and therapists alike.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any queries regarding my qualifications, experience, or practice.
If you wish to make an appointment please feel free to use the contact details provided - should I be unavailable when you call, please do leave a clear message containing your name and contact number and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your interest and I look forward to speaking with you soon...
