About me

Skype / zoom / whatsapp video / telephone sessions currently available.

I feel passionately about my work, and am committed to making a difference to your life. I feel strongly that if you are vulnerable or in distress that you have the opportunity to make changes in your life based on an awareness and an informed choice. This is what I hope to facilitate in my sessions.

Counselling provides an opportunity for you to work towards living your life in a more fulfilling way by addressing specific issues around your thoughts, feelings, behaviour and experiences. It's about empowering, supporting and enabling you to find the solutions which feel right for you, in a way which respects your values, personal resources, and freedom of choice.

I am an established, experienced and accredited counsellor. I deal with a wide range of issues which include depression, anxiety, sexuality, self-esteem and relationship issues. I also have 9 years experience in trauma, bereavement, loss and disability within an NHS setting. I regularly see clients for all maternity (pregnancy/birth) or infertility related issues. More recently, I also provide counselling support for Elite and Olympic athletes, for the English Institute of Sport. I supervise counsellors, and deliver training.

I am located near the River Thames in Maidenhead. The sessions take place in a comfortable setting, with confidentiality guaranteed.
I can confirm that during the Coronavirus restrictions, I am able to offer counselling by Skype, zoom, whatsapp video, and telephone.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

"I cannot thank you enough for getting me through the most difficult and traumatic experience of my life. I had been subjected to terrible mental abuse and aggression from a partner for years, which had left me a former shadow of myself. Your wisdom, guidance, support and kindness have given me the strength to rebuild my life and find myself again. You have encouraged me to venture back out in the world and start enjoying myself again, and given me the tools to protect myself. You have been my rock and I will never be able to thank you enough. Don't ever stop doing what you do, because you have an amazing gift in helping people."  CE 16/6/14

"After just 8 sessions talking with Linda, I have gained a new and 'balanced' opinion of myself, leading to much improved self esteem in a short space of time. I have learned a new way of thinking, which helps guide me onwards with much more self worth and positivity. I think anyone would benefit from chatting to Linda. It was really helpful and enlightening. A very positive experience that I will remember." AL 3/8/13

"You understand me. I feel my communication is my biggest challenge in my life and yet, with you, I don't need to use many words.......You helped me cross a very scary bridge, you made me feel safe and that I am not alone." TM
