About me

I am based in Bedford Park in Chiswick, London W4, close to Turnham Green tube station and Chiswick Park tube. I am UKCP accredited and UKAPI, practicing as an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I trained at the Metanoia Institute gaining a MSc with distinction.

Integrative counselling and psychotherapy works in allowing us to access parts of ourselves that we are unaware of or feel we cannot change and make this conscious through an integrative process. Sometimes we try to think our way out of a problem and at other times we are overwhelmed with feelings and fears.By understanding and experiencing these in a safe environment we can grow and develop.

I have my own private practice and work part time with individuals and couples and worked at an NHS hospital in London, and also for two GP Practices. I have many years of experience working with clients; particularly with Trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties, bereavement, jealousy, anger, panic attacks, anxiety and negative thoughts, phobias, suicidal thoughts, addictions, personality issues such as feeling sad, empty, low and isolated, depression, trauma, abuse, addictions, eating disorders and self esteem. I offer short term and long term counselling and psychotherapy.

I am here to support clients that are struggling with isolation, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, traumatic events and other mental health issues such as ADHD and other challenging diagnosis. When we are faced with a loss of daily routine, the loss of family and loved ones around us we need a supportive and caring environment .

I am interested in the potential to grow and develop and believe in the ability to change and heal. Through integration we can make whole what is difficult, traumatic and painful. My approach is to tailor therapy to each client's need and integrate therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), relational psychodynamic therapy and strategies such as mindfulness and mentalisation in order for healing and integration to take place.

My background before counselling and psychotherapy involved active military service in the UK and the Middle East where I experienced trauma and during this time I received an award from the Queen at Buckingham Palace for distinction of service. Later on in my career I became involved with developing people and organisations across many cultures and countries, restoring conflictual opposition through strengthening relationships and understanding difference.

school Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
