Supervision details

I have a diploma in Clinical Supervision. My modality is integrative and pluralistic, which means that I cover a range of approaches.

I use the Seven Eyed Model of Supervision (Peter Hawkins 1985) and the Supervision Triangle (Kadushin 1976).  I value the relationship with my supervisees greatly,  I see supervision as being a collaboration between two professionals  for the good of the client, to protect the well being of the supervisee and to ensure ethical practice.

My experience working with students as a Clinical Lead offering in house Supervision for Counselling Students within a charity, has shown me that this type of supervision starts off leaning towards the formative (educative) but as their experience grows, and the supervisory relationship grows, it is rewarding to move to the more collaborative approach.

In my private practice, I work with fully qualified counsellors, school sencos, and children’s home seniors, which gives me a broad range of experience.

Mostly, I thoroughly enjoy this work, the supervisory relationship is key to the success of the supervision.

Supervisee Testimonial

Testimonial.

I can highly recommend Jill as a really skilled and experienced supervisor. She has guided and supported me through my trainee placement hours where i have worked with some clients with challenging presenting issues. I have great confidence in the way she explores the context of those clients, my responses and then the direction of travel. She is always perceptive and encouraging.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
