Mindfulness based stress reduction 8 week course - Abergavenny
The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) 8 week course is a practical and experiential course. It is a highly acclaimed and evidence based stress reduction programme used in medical centres across the world to help people deal with the stress of modern day living, anxiety, depression and chronic pain. A range of Mindfulness practices will be taught, including gentle stretching and mindful movement, exploring stress reactions and mindful stress responses, hand-outs, audio practices and guided home practice.

Who is the course for?
The course is for beginners and for people who have meditated before in other settings who want to deepen their practice. The only course requirement is the need to be able to commit to daily home practice working up to 45 minutes a day.
What does it entail?
8 weekly, 2/2 and a quarter hour (length depends on number of participants) sessions as well as a 6 hour silent practice day.
Pre-requisite for the 8 week course
I ask that you have attended an Introductory Session of Mindfulness, either with me, or somewhere else to ensure the full 8 week course is right for you. You can also undertake a one to one introductory session with me in person or over the phone.
In this session you will be introduced to the main mindfulness practices taught on the 8 week course, to allow you to experience a taster of what’s to come. The last 30 minutes will be introducing the 8 week course and there will be time for questions about the course.

Dates: September 20 and 27th, October 4th, 11th and 25th, November 1st, 8th and 15th. 10am-12pm.
Full day practice: Saturday October 28th 10am-4pm.
Booking essential. Cost £200. One low cost place available.
This course will have a maximum number of 8 participants - so an opportunity to work within a small group setting.
Cancellations: up to one week before commencement 50% of the full fee will be refundable. Cancellations after this date will not be refunded. You may transfer to another course as long as it is two weeks prior to commencement. If I cancel the course full fees will be refunded.
About the host
I have been practicing and teaching Mindfulness for over 27 years. Since 2007 I have followed the MBSR approach. I am currently following the Mindfulness Teacher Training Pathway with Bangor University and am trained to deliver MBSR courses. I follow the Good Practice Guidelines for Teaching Mindfulness-Based Teachers.
