Eight week mindful self-compassion course
The mindful self-compassion course (MSC) consists of eight weekly sessions of 2.5 hours and a day retreat. Each session will include time for meditations, short talks, experiential exercises and group discussions; all of which are designed to help you cultivate a kinder and more supportive relationship with yourself.
6.30pm to 9.15pm on 24th September, 8th, 13th, 22th, 29th October and finally, 5th and 12th November. The day retreat on takes place on Saturday 7th November 10.30am to 3.30pm.
During the eight weeks, you will have many opportunities to directly experience self compassion. You will learn practices that will evoke self compassion in your daily life so that in times of difficulty, rather than criticising yourself or ignoring your feelings, you will be able to rely on a compassionate and understanding response from yourself.
You will be given guided MP3 self compassion and mindfulness meditations to practice at home each day and handouts to support the learning from each session.
The course will enable you to:
- Practice self compassion in daily life.
- Motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism.
- Handle difficult emotions with greater ease.
- Transform challenging relationships – old and new.
- Manage care giver fatigue.
- Practice the art of savouring and self appreciation.
