CPD drama therapy workshop
Connecting ego states through time and space
Healing trauma through the body/mind system using lifespan integration therapy.
For the past six years lifespan integration, or LI as it’s known, has offered me a profound way of working with my clients that has revolutionized my practice.
LI works to improve and heal poor mental health, focusing on the body and mind simultaneously. It restores integration of self through connecting past fragmented parts or split off ego states through time to the current self. It does this gently and without re-traumatising, with the attention of well-attuned therapists in a directive way. LI can treat early years trauma, attachment disruption, big T and little t traumas, abuse (especially neglect), relationship difficulties, and difficulties in mental health.
As a drama therapist, I was drawn to lifespan integration due to the way it uses active imagination, body mindfulness, attunement and neural biology. I am continually fascinated by the way this extraordinary method helps clients to ‘knit together’ their neural systems, offering a contained way to engage with, and within, themselves.
In this workshop I shall be sharing what LI is and some of the extraordinary ways it helps to heal through the use of the timeline. In particular, I’ll be focusing on the importance of working with the body and the mind in healing trauma. I like to work in a creative, personable and inclusive way, so I hope you’ll join me, and each other, for this workshop.
