This year the UKAGP’s national conference incorporates a very special cause for celebration.

The marking of twenty five years of the publication of the British Gestalt Journal is an opportunity for the British gestalt community to take stock of who we are, what we do, and how we go about this.

The celebration in this conference takes the form of an 'experiment' where, instead of the normal pattern of key note speakers, we’ve invited experienced international and UK contributors to write initial papers for publication in the BGJ prior to the conference. Our writers include:

  • Lynne Jacobs
  • Joe Melnick
  • Peter Philippson
  • Margherita Spagnuolo Lobb
  • Gaie Houston

These papers will be made available to all participants, who are invited to engage with them before the conference and to come with their reactions and questions, using them as a spring-board for exploration and discussion together.

Themes from the initial papers will feed into dialogues, which the contributors themselves will be part of, rather than lead, and through engaging in focused conversations using the ‘World Café’ method  emergent interest groups can develop to experience and explore issues further.

We are anticipating this event will be a lively and engaging experiment into the unknown.
