Peter Hutt (MBACP) Individual or Couples Counselling - Weekend Appts Available
48 Rochester Gardens
Brighton Therapy Practice
9a Princes Street
I am a Person Centred Counsellor. This means that our therapy sessions aren't about me or my opinions. They are about you. I want to help you understand yourself more and help you recognise repetitive behaviour or cycles in your life that prevent you from moving forward.
Offering you a calm, confidential environment and providing you with a space in which to express your thoughts, feelings and emotions, you can be assured that I will receive you with empathy and without judgement. Drawing on my extensive training, work and personal experience I can help you explore difficult issues, obstacles, choices and aspirations, whether they are current problems of a practical nature or repetitive patterns from your past affecting your daily life. Together we will work towards strengthening your inner resources and confidence.
Working with me in counselling sessions can help you to understand some of the reasons behind your difficult or even overwhelming emotions. Perhaps you find it hard to cope with feelings such as depression, anger, loss, stress, anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues, loss of self-belief or low self-esteem. Maybe you have suffered childhood trauma or abuse. Sometimes we can feel that we are not 'good enough', have an unexplainable feeling of 'impending doom', or just a feeling that something isn't quite right.
Whatever it is that you are finding difficult to cope with in your life, I can help you to explore it in a professional, compassionate, non-judgemental environment.
I see people with a wide range of problems including relationship issues, anxiety, depression, stress, feelings of worthlessness, excessive drinking habits, alcohol or drug addiction, prescription or illicit drug abuse, gambling, gaming, shopping and overeating.
If you think you may have a problem with drink, drugs or gambling, my personal experience of recovery gives me a deep understanding of addictive behaviour and its underlying causes.
We can meet Central Hove at 48 Rochester Gardens, or in Brighton in Princes Street, close to The Royal Pavilion.
I can also arrange to visit you in your own home or at an appropriate venue of your choice such as your place of work. The venue must offer a confidential environment. I will travel within a 10 mile radius of Brighton. Please contact me for details.
