Supervision details
Are there aspects of your client work you find tricky?
Maybe you need support around holding boundaries, especially in the face of pushback.
Could you be at risk of burning out, and need support?
Perhaps you avoid endings - even when you’ve run out of ideas, or no longer enjoy working with your client.
A particular client might be triggering a strong response in you - you want to think about what that means, plus make a plan for how you’ll “get back in there” with your client.
Or, you’d like to celebrate positive moments from your practice and share things you feel quite proud of!
I have many years' experience providing ongoing, formal supervision (plus informal, as-needed consultation) to other psychologists, schema therapists, CBT therapists, clinical associates and counsellors.
I’ve worked with therapists at all stages of their careers, from beginning-stage trainees to seasoned therapists near their retirement.
I have also supervised psychiatric nurses and occupational therapists in their own use of psychological therapies to structure and focus their work with clients.
Every single person I have supervised has also helped me grow and develop.
I encourage self-awareness and reflection in my supervisees but like to think I'm also a practical supervisor! I want to provide you with a space to think and feel, plus useful tools and ideas you can use in your very next session.
When therapists care deeply about their work - as most do – there’s also a risk of burnout. For this reason, I believe that supervision should have a supportive element and be a place where supervisees can feel safe to talk about their work in the open, transparent way that allows for deepest learning and growth as a clinician.
So, please do get in touch with me if you would like to schedule a supervision session to see if my way of working could meet your needs.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
