Supervision details
Just as is the case with clients, I believe that supervisees have different needs from supervision. I work to provide you with a safe, non judgemental, enquiring, creative, space where you can explore your client work, your own responses and ways of helping your clients.
My approach to supervision is using the Seven Eyed Model where all aspects of the client's world, the setting, the therapeutic process between you and your client, and my own responses are looked at closely to better understand and support your client.
My experience as a supervisor for individuals and groups started at Mind BLMK with trainees at Diploma and Masters levels, as well as qualified, paid and volunteer counsellors. I also supervised volunteer counsellors on placements at Samuel Whitbread Academy- ages 13-18.
Post Qualifying, I continued to supervise at Mind BLMK and began to take on students and qualified counsellors in private practice.
Supervisees I have worked with or currently working with in independent practice are self employed running their own private practice, clinical managers of organisations and students who work in schools.
Further to this, I have been a Training Supervisor and Tutor at Levels 4, 5 and 6 since 2019.
In addition to independent practice and tutoring, I am a group and individual supervisor at Bedfordshire Open Door supporting paid and unpaid qualified counsellors who work with young people presenting issues such as domestic and sexual abuse, asylum seekers, autism, anxiety, depression, self harm, suicidal ideation, relationship issues, bereavement, homelessness to name a few.
