Supervision details
Hello and welcome.
I am a psychodynamic supervisor. I create a space for supervisees that is safe, creative and rigorous. I believe we all work in more effective ways as therapists and supervisors if our work is collaborative and co-created. My approach to supervision is psychodynamic so we will think together about your client's lived experience, including their past, as a way of understanding what drives them and how and why they respond to the world and to others, including you, in the ways they do.
Examples of issues I have supported supervisees with include bereavement, domestic violence, mental health diagnoses, loneliness, infertility, gender identity, sexuality, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties and loss of purpose.
Fees:
Individual supervision is £60 for 60 minutes
Group supervision is offered for a maximum group of 3. Fees negotiable.
I offer supervision both online and from therapy rooms in central Stroud and central Cirencester.
Initially, once you make email or phone contact, and it feels that we might be able to work together, we will have a 20-minute phone conversation. There is no charge for this and it’s an opportunity for you to tell me what you are looking for, in terms of supervision for your therapeutic work. If we are both in agreement, I would then offer you an initial supervision session, charged at my usual rates. This provides an opportunity for us to work together so we can both assess if we would like to continue to work together in supervision. If we wish to go forward, I would then issue you with a contract for supervision for you to sign which will offer you all the terms of our work, e.g. how and when to make a payment, what we do about holidays, etc.
I look forward to hearing from you.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
