Supervision details

Supervision is itself a relational approach and depends on the ability to engage in a supportive interpersonal relationship. Development is facilitated when supervisees engage in reflection on the counselling work as much as the relationships involved both with the client, the organisation and the supervisor. I believe in and encourage this approach. The supervision should feel like a natural extension of the therapy creating an uninterrupted flow from the therapy session to the supervision session and back again.

I utilise several approaches in supervision – the seven eyed method which primarily focuses on the client together with looking at the approach of you - the supervisee and your relationship with the client as well as our relationship. I also look at my own process and that of the wider context within which the work is taking place incorporating equality, diversity and socio economic and intersectional issues.

I am also mindful of there being definable developmental stages throughout your learning and career as you move from being more dependent on your supervisor to increasing your autonomy and becoming more empowered and confident as a practitioner. Throughout each stage I will hold and support you and provide opportunities for development and reflection.

Above all my approach is one of warmth, support: providing developmental opportunities increasing the supervisees self-belief and skills in their own therapeutic approach

I charge £65 for one hour

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
