Supervision details
As a supervisor, I believe that, as with therapy, the relationship between supervisor and supervisee is key to enhance and enable your growth as a practitioner. My supervision training (Level 6 CPCAB) was integrative and developmental so I am able to support you wherever you are on your counselling journey. I value open and honest relationships and offer a warm and non-judgemental space for us to work together.
I work within the BACP Ethical Framework and maintain an ethical and boundaried practice. Additionally, I have a Level 5 Certificate in CYP and am therefore qualified to support you to work with young people.
In my work with trainee and newly qualified counsellors, I aim to encourage confidence in your ability to be the best you can be for your clients with regard to working ethically while assisting you to develop your counselling skills and competencies. My style is nurturing and supportive and I ask that you bring any, and all, aspects of your client work for us to discuss openly and honestly in supervision.
For qualified counsellors, I will work with you to recognise your individual supervisory requirements and am able to tailor my sessions to meet your needs. Additionally, I will encourage you to review your supervision with me periodically to ensure that you are getting what you need from me.
Equally, where appropriate, I will challenge you and this will always be done with gentle curiosity to ensure that you are working ethically in your client work and that you are meeting your self-care needs.
Please email me and we can arrange a free 15 minute telephone conversation for you to ask me any questions you may have and to see if you would like to work with me.
My supervision fees are:
Qualified counsellors: £55/hr
Trainee counsellors: £50/hr
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
