Supervision details

I offer Relational Clinical Supervision which incorporates the use of Hawkins and Shohet’s 7 eyed model to both qualified therapists in private practice and trainee therapists on a 1:1 and small group basis. I can support you in the development of your professional style, the growth of your clinical practice and your ongoing professional development.

I best describe myself as an Integrative psychotherapist as this label allows me to incorporate practices that enable me to work holistically with clients and supervisees. I utilise TA and psychodynamic theories with EMDR to support clients and supervisees to feel seen, heard and understood. Whether I am working privately with clients, overseeing the work of my supervisees or running Dialogues my group practice, kindness and supporting growth are the themes that run through out my work.

Whether we are working together 1:1 in person or online, or you are joining one of my supervision groups, you will be met with warmth, respect and encouragement. My focus will be on your needs for your practice, your clients work and your wellbeing.

I invite openness and curiosity into sessions that feel safe, boundaried and supportive. Together we will develop our own professional relationship where I aim to become someone you know supports you, no matter what. I can guide you through the good times and the times that feel tougher whether personally or professionally, because as therapists we are central to our work.

I can help you focus your knowledge, skills and enthusiasm into your own professional style of working as you grow in your experience. I can help you develop your confidence to explore a new path if you're feeling a little lost and in need of direction. I can help you breathe new life into your practice and challenge you to see the work through 'fresh eyes'. If you're ambitious and looking to rise higher I can support you to scale your private practice, offering guidance, support and accountability if that's needed.

I very much enjoy supporting other therapists to thrive, grow their practice and develop their confidence. I'll enjoy helping you become better acquainted with your strengths so that you can incorporate them into your practice and with those learning edges and those old patterns when they come up... we'll work on those too, if that's helpful. The therapeutic relationship between counsellor and supervisor is key to the professional development. Please feel welcome to view my website: dialogueslife.com to learn a little more of me and my practice and please don't hesitate to reach out if you would like to schedule a quick and informal chat on the phone.

The initial chat on the phone is free and there's no obligation to begin supervision with me, in fact I encourage you to 'shop around'. My fee is £60 for 1 hour of supervision, £90 for 1.5 hours.

Please send me an email if you would like more information: counsellingwithjowood@gmail.com

Masterwork Mentorship Programme: Sometimes growth means breaking through old barriers and forging a new path, not without fear and immense courage. It's for those of you looking for next level personal development, it's only on offer to therapists who are not currently my supervisees at the moment. You'll get my undivided support throughout. It's a short course designed to turbo charge your personal growth and connect you with other like minded therapists. You can fit it round your work and life commitments and the experience will benefit your practice. I'll be happy to share more information on request. Please email: talktodialogues@gmail.com

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
