Supervision details
I offer supervision to qualified therapists, counsellors, Counselling Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists. I have an interest in the role of supervision in supporting clinicians, and have provided supervision in both private and NHS settings. I have undertaken the BPS Approved Certificate in Clinical Supervision and the SDS Accreditation in Clinical Supervision (Level 2). I am registered on the BPS's Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS).
Approach to supervision
I believe that supervision should serve a several key functions, including:
- Providing a safe environment to explore and examine your own emotions and reactions in response to the work.
- A restorative aspect supporting wellbeing.
- A consideration of ethical concerns to ensure client welfare and professional standards.
- Increasing the clinician's effectiveness through developing understanding and knowledge
The extent to which these different aspects are stressed is dependent on your own needs.
Models supervised
In line with my own practice, I offer supervision for clinicians who integrate different theoretical models in their work. I have a particular interest in CBT, ACT, Mindfulness-based and DBT-informed approaches.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
