Supervision details
I have completed a Level 7 advanced certificate in Clinical Supervision, working with the Seven-Eyed model of Supervision. I am an experienced integrative counsellor with over 8 years of clinical experience working with a wide range of client groups in both counselling organisations and within my own private practice. I currently work within a busy and thriving private practice and enjoy the freedom this affords as well as the diverse range of clients I come into contact with. I also work with No 5 Young People's Counselling Service and provide group supervision for counsellors there.
The core emphasis of my therapeutic approach is relational. I can provide you with a safe and supportive space to discuss and reflect on your clinical work and help you work through any problems, issues or concerns you may experience with clients.
As in my counselling work, in supervision, I believe the relationship you have with your supervisor is key. I therefore provide a free initial phone call, this gives us an opportunity to find out a little more about each other and what you're looking for from supervision and you can get a sense of how we may work together and if we have mutual availability. After the initial phone call, we may wish to arrange a first session, this is an introductory supervision session, in order for you to experience what it feels like to be in a supervision session with me and for you to get a sense of whether I am the right supervisor for you.
My practice is based in Finchampstead in Wokingham. I can offer in person supervision sessions as well as online sessions, depending on your preference. If you would like to find out anymore, please feel free to get in contact either over email or phone.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
