Supervision details
I have over 10 years' experience of offering psychological supervision and consultation to clinical psychologists and allied health professionals including consultant and junior doctors, specialist nurses, play specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and play therapists. I also have consultation and training experience with teachers within education and hospital settings. My special interest in recent years has been offering supervision to staff working within physical health settings. This has included group-based and individual supervision in contexts of work with children and adults dealing with impacts of chronic health problems and facing end of life. I draw on a variety of psychological models in my supervisory work, underpinned by systemic theory and CBT principles where helpful but increasingly specifically using Compassionate Mind concepts in my supervisory work.
British Psychological Society
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
