I aim to bring nurturing, supportive and empathic qualities to my role as Supervisor and offer integrative supervision to students, newly qualified and experienced counsellors working in and setting up a private practice. I have considerable experience working with the problems that face young people, bereavement/loss, anxiety, low self-esteem, depression and relationship issues. I have experience of working with both individuals and couples. My approach is based mainly on psychodynamic, person centered and transpersonal theories and I work creatively weaving in CBT, mindfulness and guided-visualisation techniques.
Basing my supervision practice on the respected theory of Hawkins & Shohet, using the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice and having supervision of supervision, I aim to work with my supervisee's individual needs in order to support them with their client work, continued personal development and self-care.
I hold the Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision (CPCAB) Qualification.
