Supervision details
I offer clinical supervision to experienced Counsellors as well as trainees. I have very good experience and knowledge, working with adults, young people and children. I am able to offer good tips, tools and advice when working with children in play therapy. I have good knowledge of ADHD and ASD and how to work effectively in the room.
I can help with using creative ways when working with young people. I like my role to be fluid and adaptable, depending on what you bring to Supervision. My roles will include being a mentor, teacher, evaluator, advisor, consultant, supporter, manager and facilitator.
I have very good knowledge and experience in setting up a private practice, and also in maintaining a good practice. For example, remaining ethical, boundaries, advertising, marketing, insurance, forms, diary management and self-care. My own private practice is very successful, and I am happy to pass this knowledge on. I have worked in schools, GP's, and other agencies as well as in private practice. I was also a counselling tutor for 4 years.
Sessions are for 1 hour or 1.5 hours, which falls in line with working towards accreditation.
I will use an information sheet to gather personal details from you that will help me get a better understanding of your background, work and orientation. I will keep a ‘record of session’ sheet to record notes and dates of sessions.
I am an integrative counsellor, and I have a good knowledge of each of the modalities I use, person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT. Self-care, paperwork, business, reflections and thoughts are all areas that I explore with supervisees. I have a good knowledge of the CPD’s available, and I also run my own workshops. I will strive to help you become more confident within your work and help explore and resolve any ethical dilemmas.
I am keen to challenge, for me, challenge means growth, and so this is incorporated in my framework. I am comfortable in sharing my own experience and mistakes if the agenda is to facilitate your learning. I believe I am genuine and supportive and have a good balance between task-based qualities and relationship qualities. I am very ambitious and confident in my work, and I would hope that my enthusiasm would be encouraging to you.
Fees: £70 per session for 1 hour & £100 for 1.5 hours. Concession rates are available for trainee Counsellors and volunteers. Please ask for more details
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
