Ivan Broad, Counselling, Psychotherapy, Breathwork, Equine Therapy, EMDR.
I have been a qualified supervisor since 2011 and have a huge amount of experience supporting and helping professionals stay safe and healthy in their challenging work. I have supervised with Savana since qualifying and have worked with qualified members of staff and supported students on placement.
Within my job as a Therapy Manager at HMP Dovegate Therapeutic Community (TC), I have managed and supervised a team of 8 staff, facilitating and processing small and large therapy groups on a daily basis. I was responsible for delivering individual supervision for all of the team. I worked with Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural and Analytical concepts as a TC Therapy Manager, helping the team work therapeutically with 20 to 40 residents. I learned that every interaction has therapeutic value and meaning.
I work in supervision with students from Staffs University, Keele University and Buxton College. I work as a supervisor to local charities and staff from HM Prisons.
I am Person Centred as a foundation and use creative methods where appropriate.
I am both challenging and supportive within the supervisory relationship to enable the growth of clients and supervisees alike.
I am a registered member of the BACP
I am an Approved supervisor through the National Counselling Society.
I am now offering Equine Supported Supervision. This type of supervision takes place in the presence of horses and offers the supervisee insight into their unconscious relationship with their clients and possible emotional blocks in their work. The horses often reflect back to us what is going on for us in the way they behave and interact with each other.
Equine Supported Supervision takes place at Booth Hall Farm, Stoke on Trent. People often find that being outside with the horses offers an instant opportunity to feel freed up and lighter with whatever they may be carrying from their client work. Please contact me if you would like to experience this way of working and see if it fits with your needs.
