Supervision details
Supervision is an essential part of the therapeutic process and most effective when it feels like a creative and collaborative endeavour. It can be thought provoking and sometimes challenging, as well as restorative and enabling. I believe it can help a therapist or practitioner be the best they can be, allowing them to develop their practice and benefit those they are working with. I have experience of Supervising those who are working with Children/Young People and Adults and offer in-person and online/telephone supervision sessions. I enjoy working with colleagues and fellow practitioners who come from a range of backgrounds, disciplines, trainings and modalities. My Supervision training is the Diploma in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapy and Counselling Supervision from Terapia, London which is Integrative in its orientation. My first training was psychodynamic and I have experience of working in a number of different ways and settings. The first step would be to have an initial session to hear a bit more about your practice and explore the idea of working together. Sessions are generally 50 minutes in length at a time and frequency we would agree in advance.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
