About me

I am a qualified, experienced psychotherapist offering counselling/psychotherapy sessions in a reliable, confidential and non judgemental setting.

Counselling and psychotherapy gives you a regular time to talk and think about the feelings you have about yourself and your relationships with other people. From this can emerge a better understanding of issues that are troubling you by thinking about what’s happening in your life at the moment as well as experiences of the past and possible links between then and now.

Both counselling and psychotherapy involve having conversations with a listener who is trained to help you make sense of things that may be causing you difficulty or distress. From this can emerge a better understanding of the issues that trouble you, as well as possible ways forward.

Opening up about the things that are troubling you can feel daunting. I offer a confidential, reliable, non-judgemental and impartial space for you to think about and understand these troubles at a pace that suits you.

I offer both open-ended and shorter term more focused engagements and would discuss with you at an initial meeting which approach might be best based on what you were hoping to achieve from attending.

Training, qualifications & experience

My initial training is as a psychodynamic psychotherapist. I hold both a professional psychotherapy qualification and an MA in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice.

Since qualifying I have undertaken a range of activities and training to develop my practice and extend my knowledge and understanding.

As a member of the UKCP and FPC I abide by robust codes of ethics and have experience of working with varied client groups looking for support with a wide range of difficulties.
