I have a certificate in Relational Supervision and have taught supervision to social workers for many years. I believe that supervision is a critical part of the process, both as a form of quality control for the people I see and as a way for me to untangle places where I am stuck and develop my skills. I offer my supervisees an opportunity to talk through what they are thinking and feeling about the people they are working with. I am happy to share my own experiences, to point them to research and theoretical frameworks that might be useful and to work through feeling stuck or unable to help people.
