This is a two-day workshop; the second day will be on March 27th, 2020.

For many, the idea of working with groups is daunting, and yet much of our learning and development is enhanced with this style of working. Being comfortable with group work will allow you to enhance and enlarge your own practice and scope of experience. This successful two-day course has been developed to give you a grounding and some practical experience of effectively working with groups. You could use these skills to set up a peer group, supervision or any support or learning group. This will not qualify you to be a group therapist, but it will allow you to work in a safe and therapeutic space with others.

After day one, you will;

  • understand some fundamental theory about groups and systems
  • understand the stages of group development and how to work with them
  • have some basic group facilitation skills

After day two, you will;

  • have the tools to initiate and hold a group safely
  • appreciate the flow of power dynamics in a group
  • have experienced leading and supporting a process group of your peers
