Working with couples - 6-day programme 2019/20
Jesmond Therapy Centre has developed a course for relationship and couple counselling especially for trained and experienced therapists, seeking to add the skills and theory of couple work to their existing counselling skill set.
Whilst not qualifying the participant to be an agency-trained and placement-completed couple therapist, this couple counselling course is unique to the North East in that it combines affordable, cutting-edge training in relationship counselling, from psychodynamic, systemic, and mindfulness perspectives, without the need for agency-placement or strict modality adherence. This approach provides participants with the skills and practice they require to counsel couples (under appropriate supervision).
This six-module course will be delivered over three weekends (six days), one weekend per month between December 2019-March 2020, providing 36 CPD hours. Actual dates are:
- Saturday 7th/Sunday 8th December 2019
- Saturday 1st February/Sunday 2nd February 2020
- Saturday 29th February 2020/Sunday 1st March 2020
Hosted by Graeme Armstrong
Graeme trained with Relate using psychodynamic approaches to counsel couples in their relationships. In 2004 he completed a P.G. Dip in Couple Therapy with the University of Manchester, integrating psychodynamic and systemic approaches with human sexuality; this was broadened with a further Diploma in Systemic Therapy in 2009.
