This is a workshop hosted by Listening Post Christian Counselling Service, Gloucestershire.

Speaker: Wale Oladipo

It could be argued that no thought is fundamentally intrusive, and that one of the functions of counselling is to enable the safe exploration of any thoughts our clients bring, all of which have the potential to shape insight and understanding. Nevertheless, it is common for counsellors to encounter negative internalised dialogues within clients which can have profoundly disabling effects on their lives. This seminar will help you to identify and work with the anxiety that is sustained by negative intrusive thoughts.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the four main categories of intrusive thoughts.
  • Understand the eight inner critics.
  • Understand the biochemistry of anxiety.
  • Understand the building blocks of anxiety disorders.
  • Understand the Hebbian Law for recovery.
  • Understand how to use the Worry Processor to break the worry habit.
  • Understand the neuro-idealisation technique to rewire the brain.
  • Learn how to use the BEING Cycle for long-lasting transformation.
