A creative weekend using movement, embodiment and myth to walk away from a space of restriction, towards a place of a new emergent self.

Within the past few years, many people have experienced significant changes in their lives, most of these exacerbated by the pandemic or social and personal circumstances.

After a big change, we often experience both our lives and our own selves in a different way. This may have left us feeling confused or uncomfortable, wondering what our place is in this new reality. Who are we now and how we can feel authentic in this constantly changing world?

Time continues passing and we put one foot in front of the other, rarely giving ourselves the opportunity to pause, have a look around and make sense of what we see.

In this experiential dramatherapy residential, we invite participants to take that pause and explore a new, more mindful way of moving forward.

Through group activities involving movement, embodiment and myth, participants, guided by creation myths and imagery, are invited to “dance their new selves into existence”: to walk away from a place of restriction towards a place for a new emergent self.

Dates: 26th-28th August 2022

There will be approximately 10 hours of workshops, facilitated across the weekend by three experienced dramatherapists: Antigone, Teena and Theo.

Maximum group size of 14 participants.
