About this event

We will be looking at:

  • Why connecting with nature can be beneficial.
  • What you can learn about yourself from observing nature.
  • How you might bring nature into the counselling room or relationship.

Since we moved from foraging to agriculture we have moved away from our close connection to the land and separate from the natural world that we are part of.

My hope in this workshop is to encourage you to re-engage with the natural world through an understanding of the physiological and psychological benefits of nature and to learn how we can use these healing benefits for ourselves and others. I will also introduce you to some ways to connect with nature, for yourself and for clients, as the workshop will be experiential.

We can learn much from nature, through observation, as well as through activities which bring us closer to our wild, authentic selves and our surroundings.

In preparation, please bring paper and pens with you to the workshop.

About the trainer - Sue Black

Sue Black is a freelance counsellor, trainer and supervisor with her own private practice in Angus. She works with both Rowan and Persona as a trainer and has previously worked with the University of Aberdeen and Perth College UHI.

Having always lived in the countryside, Sue recognises the benefits of this for her as a person as well as a therapist. She enjoys working creatively as this allows opportunities for spontaneity and supporting clients to engage with their natural and authentic selves.

Sue has participated in eco-therapy sessions and enjoys learning how to reconnect with nature and live more simply as this resonates strongly with her passion for the environment and trying to work with nature rather than against it.

This workshop is aimed at qualified and trainee counsellors.

Cost: £95 / Student £75

Handouts and CPD certificate are included in the price.
